Bandits on Kaduna-Abuja road defy two-month ban on mobile phone services

BREAKING: Kaduna Shuts Down Mobile Phone Services, Bans Commercial Motorcycles As Bandits Take Over State - 9jaflaver

The Kaduna State Government's two-month ban on mobile phone services has been removed.
This is in response to previous bandit assaults on the Kaduna-Abuja Road, notwithstanding the prohibition.

On Friday, the State Government confirmed the development through Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs.
The prohibition had been lifted, according to Aruwan, by the competent government department in charge of telecommunications.
Other measures taken to combat banditry, such as the prohibition on motorbikes, weekly markets, and the sale of petroleum in kegs, will stay in place, according to Aruwan.
The state administration had urged telecommunications companies to cease their services in the state beginning September 30 in order to investigate bandit activity.
Aruwan made the announcement in a statement on September 29.

The usage of motorbikes for transportation services, as well as the selling of gasoline in jerrycans, have been suspended across the state, according to Aruwan.
"I am here to advise you about, and to publicly announce the adoption of specific steps to help the security authorities in various sections of the state," the statement stated. Governor Nasir El-Rufai declared in a press conference yesterday (September 28, 2021) that the state administration has formally urged the Federal Government to impose the suspension of telecom services in areas of the state designated by security authorities as necessitating such measures " The Kaduna State Government was told today by the appropriate federal authorities that the process for telecommunications shutdown in sections of the state has begun. KDSG has had many meetings with security agencies to implement essential measures to squash bandits in their recognized hideouts as part of initiatives to resolve the present security situation in Kaduna State and neighboring states in the North-West and North-Central regions."
