Ahead of the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa State, the Pan Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Bayelsa State chapter has thrown its weight behind Governor Seriake Dickson.
The group gave their endorsement, when its members paid a courtesy call on the governor at Government House, Yenagoa. The group also presented him with an award of Good Governance and Equity and a copy of the Holy Bible, as a mark of appreciation for his landmark achievements in his first tenure.
Receiving the awards, Governor Dickson commended them for being peaceful and law-abiding, noting that, they have played very significant roles in the development of commerce and other business activities as well as the aspirations of the people of the state in various fields of human endeavour.
In his words: “I like to thank the Ndigbo community for being peaceful and law-abiding, as I have been following all your activities and as all reports show; even during critical issues of national interest, where some people travel to their homes and states, you have remained here, identifying with the state, so by virtue of that you are Bayelsans.
“I enjoin you to ask your people to come out en masse with their permanent voters cards and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election on December 5, 2015”
