The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has postponed its decision on a challenge filed by Uche Secondus, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seeking to halt the party's national convention until Friday.
On August 23, 2021, some members of the party allegedly filed a complaint at the High Court of Rivers State, Port Harcourt Judicial Division, against Secondus and the PDP, with Secondus and the PDP named as defendants.
Following that, the court issued its ruling, which barred Secondus from acting as the PDP's National Chairman.
The suspended chairman then filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal, asking for an order prohibiting the PDP, its officers, and representatives from holding or conducting the national convention scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2021, or any other date, pending the hearing and final determination of the appeal.
The court had already set Thursday, October 28th, as the day for hearing and ruling on Secondus' application for an interim order of injunction against the PDP and others.
