The Nigerian government has been ordered to free the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, according to a complaint filed by his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, in an Abia State Court.
Kanu's N5 billion lawsuit to enforce his fundamental human rights was set to begin on Tuesday.

"A Declaration that the Respondents' or their agents' arrest of the Applicant in Kenya without due process of law is arbitrary, illegal, unlawful, and unconstitutional, and amounts to an infringement of the Applicant's fundamental rights against arbitrary arrest, to his personal liberty, and to a fair hearing as enshrined and guaranteed under the pertinent provisions of CFRN and the Charter," according to the suit.
On Tuesday morning, Ejimakor notified SaharaReporters that the case had been postponed until November 19.

"The Abia High Court has deferred Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's human rights activists, which was scheduled for today, November 2nd."This adverse development concerning a suit seeking Kanu's unconditional RELEASE from his ILLEGAL imprisonment saddens me," Ejimakor remarked.
When Source inquired about the reason for the postponement, the lawyer explained that the hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m., but the judge, Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe, was not there.
"The hearing was scheduled at 9 a.m. The judge is not seated in his chair. Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe is his name. He is the Chief Judge of the Abia State High Court, according to Ejimakor.
