Okorocha: APC to retain power in Imo for 24 years

Governor Rochas Okorocha has stated the willingness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to retain power in Imo State for the next twenty-four years.

Okorocha, who spoke yesterday when he met state party leaders, including those from the 27 local government areas, also expressed the determination of the party to remain strong in the state in particular and the South-East geo-political zone in general.

The governor, who assured them that the local government election would be conducted as soon as the court cases, involving the councils were addressed, stated that the party would play a key role in the administration of the state.

He gave an assurance to clear all outstanding salaries and sustain the actions being taken to sanitize the system.

He stressed that workshops would be organised for party officials at all levels in the state to keep them abreast of what their role should be in the policy thrust of the administration.

He said commissioners would soon be appointed, assuring that the next four years of his administration would be worthy of celebration.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the state party deputy chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe, said the party would work in tandem with the governor and the APC government in order to make progress
