The campaign team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo, has been booed by some suspected followers of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The PDP members were barred from having a campaign rally at the head medicine market, also known as Ogbo Ogwu Onitsha, according to a video obtained by the source.
They'd come to the market to stage a campaign rally ahead of the state's governorship election on November 6.
Rather than being welcomed, the politicians were booed off by the vendors, who were overheard vowing that no campaign would be held in the market.
The shopkeepers can be seen singing in support of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently incarcerated.
"Holy, Holy, Nnamdi Kanu is another savior," they were heard singing.
Kanu's arrest and extradition from Kenya to face trial in Nigeria were announced by the Nigerian government in June.
In reaction to years of campaigning for the independent Republic of Biafra through IPOB, he is facing charges bordering on treasonable crime filed against him in court.
In April 2017, the IPOB leader was given bail for health grounds, but he fled the nation after the military assaulted his home in Abia State.
