The Rivers State APC is at home with corruption. This is expected. The party sings the praises of persons neck – deep in corruption and persons who thoroughly mismanaged resources of Rivers State for personal and political gains.
The statement released by the corruption ridden leadership of the Rivers State APC supporting the embattled former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi is another confirmation that the party’s leadership was hand in glove with the failed governor as he milked the state dry.
For the umpteenth time, it is necessary to inform members of the public that Mr Amaechi shied away from the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the sale of valued state assets and other related matters where he waived all opportunities to defend himself against several allegations levelled against in memoranda to the Commission.
Mr Amaechi and his associate dragged the commission to court to question its legality, but lost in Port Harcourt and Abuja. Mr Amaechi may have so much Rivers funds at his disposal to fund propaganda through his puppets in Rivers State APC, but the truth is known to Nigerians.
The report of the Justice Omereji-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry has been submitted to the state government and like Governor Wike declared at the ceremony, no amount of propaganda or intimidation will stop the implementation of the report.
Governor Wike is committed to recovering billions of Naira misappropriated under the watch of the former governor which led to months of unpaid salaries, pensions and several abandoned projects across Rivers State.
Governor Wike has commenced the process of rebuilding Rivers State crippled by the corruption loving failed immediate past administration. This process requires concentration and Governor Wike will not be distracted by uncouth statements by the compromised leadership of Rivers State APC.
The development of Rivers State is beyond the political survival of a failed governor.
