Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate during the April 11 poll, Dakuku Peterside has declared that the governorship election held successfully in Eleme Local Government Area where he won, stating that elections in all the other local government areas where he lost were marred by irregularities.
The APC Governorship Candidate testified on Wednesday as Petitioner witness number 54 at the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal.
He said that though the security agents who provided security for the election were from the agencies of state, the personnel at Eleme Local Government Area were he won acted differently.
According to the Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, the governorship election in Eleme Local Government Area was peaceful and was not marred by corrupt practices.
Peterside admitted that the State Collation of the Rivers State Governorship Election took place at INEC headquarters in the state with his agents actively involved.
He also agreed that other political parties had agents who were present during the collation of the state governorship election at the State INEC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
While admitting that PDP has always won election in Rivers State, he noted that he voted alongside his wife and that the former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and his wife also voted during the election.
Under cross examination, Dakuku Peterside said that he did not leave Opobo his home town on election day, he added that he received information about the election from his agents .
