According to, former Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Amuneke believes the squad can win the Africa Cup of Nations for the fourth time in Cameroon.
Gernot Rohr's team is one of 24 countries competing for the coveted championship.
In 2013, the Super Eagles won the African Cup of Nations for the first time in South Africa.
“Winning the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) isn't a stroll in the park. It necessitates meticulous planning, as well as appropriate Super Eagles preparation. On Brila FM's Ifeanyi Udeze Diary, Amuneke stated, "The football house must equip the team with the enabling atmosphere to attain the specified goals."
“Team selection is also critical to the Super Eagles' optimal performance, therefore I want the handlers to select the team based on merit. If the proper things are done, I have no doubt that Nigeria would triumph in Cameroon.”
Amuneke further stated that the Super Eagles must work hard to win the championship, as they would not be able to do it by wishing for it.
“I chuckle anytime people claim we (Nigeria) would travel to Cameroon next year to hoist the trophy,” he says. We will not be able to win if we do not fully prepare. Today, every African country aspires to win the AFCON title. They, like Nigeria, have players who have been exposed, therefore they want to win as well.”
