The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has cleared Alex Iwobi for today’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho, reports.
Recall it was reported Iwobi tested positive for the virus prior to Saturday’s clash against Benin Republic in Porto Novo.
Following the announcement the Everton winger was forced to miss the tie which the Eagles won thanks to a stoppage time goal by Paul Onuachu.
But on Tuesday morning, the Nigeria Football Federation stated that after further tests were conducted the result came out negative.
Iwobi can now feature against the Crocodiles after CAF’s approval.
“Update: CAF clears @alexiwobi to play today’s game against Lesotho,”the NFF wrote on their official Twitter handle.
