Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has dismissed the Catalan club's chances of winning the UEFA Champions League.
He made this statement in the aftermath of the team's 3-0 loss against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Pique stated that the squad will need "mother-luck" to win the Champions League.
“If we have to be honest, we aren't among the favorites right now, but that doesn't matter,” the defender added.
“We were unfancied in previous years and didn't win it, so why not be unfancied this year and see what happens later in the season?” Last year, no one picked Chelsea as a favorite. Football is a fast-paced sport. Regardless of the outcome, we performed admirably in periods.
