Maduka Okoye should not be punished for goals conceded at Sparta Rotterdam this season, according to Super Eagles goalie coach Alloy Agu.
Remember that Okoye has yet to maintain a clean sheet in seven games this season, allowing 14 goals.
Alloy, however, told The Punch in an interview that the technical team is fully behind the Nigerian international.
“It's never ideal to concede goals, but most of the time it's not the goalkeeper's responsibility.
“However, the technical staff regards Maduka Okoye as having a lot of potentials; if we didn't, he wouldn't be on the team.
“He's gaining a lot of confidence and needs a lot of guidance, and we're here to assist him.
“He has time to grow, and we will provide him with the assistance he requires.”
