Onuachu Thrilled To Scoop Belgian Player Of The Year Award

 

Paul Onuachu is thrilled to be crowned best player of the year in the Belgian Pro League for the 2020/21 season, reports.

The Nigeria international was rewarded for his exemplary performances for Genk who finished in second position behind Club Brugge during the campaign.

Onuachu is the first Nigerian to win the prestigious award.

The 26-year-old beat Club Brugge’s Noa Lang and Beerschot’s Raphael Holzhauser to the individual prize.

 

The forward also picked up the Golden Bull Award after finishing as top scorer in the league.

 

He scored 33 goals and provided five assists in 38 league appearances for the Smurfs.

“This prize means a lot to me, because the Belgian league is difficult”, the former FC Midtylland striker told c.
