Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed he is keeping a close tab on the duo of Terem Moffi and Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of next month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Benin Republic and Lesotho, reports
Moffi has hugged the headlines following his impressive performances for Lorient in the French League this season.
The 21-year-old has scored six goal in 17 league appearances for the modest side including the winner in the 3-2 home win against champions Paris Saint-Germain last month.
Awoniyi on the other has hit the back of the net five times and provided three assists in 18 league appearances for Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
”We have some new players that can be scouted, some of them are playing in Germany, we have one in Union Berlin ( Awoniyi) which is a good team this season,” Rohr declared in an interview with Super Eagles TV.
“We have other players who are playing in France, Lorient . We have players who are doing well in Eastern Europe, also Austria, Czech Republic and we know all what all of them are doing.”
The Super Eagles will travel to Cotonou for their first game against Benin Republic and later host Lesotho at home in March.
