Victor Osimhen of Nigeria has been named the Serie A Player of the Month for September.
Osimhen recovered from a poor start to the 2021/2022 season in August, when he was sent off in the first match against newcomers Venezia, forcing him to miss the match against Genoa.
Since then, the Super Eagles striker has become a terror for opposing defenses, scoring seven goals in eight Napoli matches in September alone.
His first goal of the season came against Udinese, followed by a brace against Sampdoria and a goal against Cagliari to complete his Serie A total.
Aside from his goals, Osimhen has helped Napoli achieve a perfect start to the season by earning two penalty kicks.
On the European stage, Osimhen scored three goals in the Europa League, including a brace against Leicester City.
