Why NFF Must Organise More Friendly Games For Super Eagles Ahead 2022 World Cup Qualifiers -Babaginda

Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babaginda has tasked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to engage the senior national team in more friendly matches to ensure adequate preparations for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Babangida, in an exclusive chat with said the current break in top European leagues present an ample opportunity for the Super Eagles players to form an understanding on and off the pitch before the qualifiers as well as the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, noting that more friendly games will boost the team’s confidence going into the crucial games.

Recall that the Super Eagles played the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in an international friendly game in Austria, where Nigeria lost 1-0 and played a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture.

The team will next face Mexico on July 3 at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (LA Coliseum). However, Tijani urged the NFF to keep the team busy with more friendly games.

“The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) must find a way of occupying the Super Eagles with more international-friendly games. After playing Cameroon in a double-header, the next game will be against Mexico on July 3.

“Other Africa countries are getting their teams very busy in preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and Africa Cup of Nations. We just need to utilise this period to organise more friendly games to help the players form great understanding,” he said.
